Enhancing production process and CIP Sequences for Innovafeed
Contec successfully added, removed, and modified over 70 devices in Innovafeed’s production process, doubling their Cleaning In Place (CIP) sequences. Utilizing TIA Portal and WinCC, we ensured a seamless integration and efficient testing process.
Innovafeed required significant modifications to their production process, including:
-
Adding, removing, and modifying over 70 devices
-
Doubling the CIP sequences
The challenge
Managing complex program modifications
The project involved several challenges:
- Managing a complex program with process and CIP sequences
- Learning the client’s programming standards and libraries
- Meeting the client’s request to enable/disable PLC logic of new equipment and HMI one by one for testing

Our approach
Tailored solutions and rigorous testing
Contec’s approach to this project included several key steps:
- Routine interface creation: We created a routine interface for enabling and disabling each individual modification. When enabled, the functionality was executed in the sequences and visible on the HMI, while the old logic was disabled.
- Technology utilization: We utilized TIA Portal and WinCC to manage the modifications and ensure seamless integration.
- FAT Tests: Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) were conducted with the Innovafeed team at our site during development and on the customer’s simulation system before the system went into production. This thorough testing process resulted in a faster and easier start-up and commissioning.
This comprehensive approach ensured that Innovafeed’s production process and CIP sequences were enhanced efficiently, meeting their specific requirements and standards.
